Title: Bluefin and Exhaust
Post by: Hilton_K on 25 August 2007, 13:44
Hello,

I have an 07 MK5 GTI with Superchips Bluefin installed 244HP at the fly  I am thinking about installing a new dump pipe to the stock cat back system. From the research I have done seems as though the stock cat back is VERY good but the dump pipe and cats can be improved.

Still deciding/researching on the size to go for, either Miltek's 2.75", AWE's 2.5" or APR's 3" dump pipe

Question is,

Will I need to get a new map from Superchip to accomodate for the new system or is there enough in the program for it to get the full advatages out of the new less restrictive dump pipe?

Cheers,
Mitch.

I had a Milltek and Superchip, but only on my last car which was a GTTDI. I had them fitted at the same time and although you can optimise the milltek through a custom tune, the Superchips method is usually a stock remap with a slight tweek to it. I guess it will enable you to make a small gain if you do optimise, but I doubt that there would be much in it.
