Guys and Gals,

Ive just bought a MK4 GTIt, and love it so much i just want to get a project MK1 golf to play with, any tips or hints and anyone know of one in Scotland pref the north Inverness > Perth way please.

Even a 4 spd 1.0l will do. :laugh:

Its funny how often ive heard "wee" this week...been speaking to scottish contractors and that's all they seem to say :grin:

theres a nice non sunroofed mk1 on ebay at the moment with webers, garaged, clean not bad i think for £100 no reserve!

Thanks guys, eh im not getting rid of my MK4 just want a MK1 to tool around with... project to get back to shiny paint and standard looking...... :laugh:

Mk1s were so cool when they first came out. No one knew what they were. I had one in 1978 in Germany and the look on the Mercedes drivers faces as you came up behind them and gave them a flash on the autobahn was priceless.

My red Mk1 four speed did me well for 10 years and over 250k kilometres, never let me down.

1978 was such a great year... i was born lol, aye ive always loved the MK1 but could never afford one or insure one but now im older wiser and well got a couple of quid im thinking why not. :laugh:
