does anybody know if the antiroll bars off a gti will fit straight onto a driver
-
They should do. They are the same car but the driver has a less powerfull engine. Suspension, trim and everything else to my knowledge is the same.
-
yeah they will fit no probs
-
what about the brakes and suspention Its a 1.6 not a 1.8
-
Still the same. The driver was a poor mans GTI. GTI without the GTI performance. I think everything is interchangeable bar engine components and ancilliaries.
Brakes, trim, interior, running gear etc.
-
brakes and handling are crap
-
As long as you use 15'' wheels, you can use the braking equipment from a G60. You will need the front hubs and the master cylinder too. As for handling, your shocks may be a little tyred. You can always upgrade when you replace but if upgrading, buy matching sets of springs and shocks. You WILL notice the difference.

could I use the front disks and calipers from a 16 valve?
-
To use the calipers and discs from a 16v I think you need to change the hubs. I dont know if the driver will take the 8v barkes and discs without the hub change?
-
I was thinking just to the complete front end running gear off a valver and change the lot hubs, disks, calipers, suspension and anti roll bar
-
I think you can use the 8v gti disks and pads. The gti pads are thinner and will allow room for the vented disks
I remember doing something like this a while back
