ello

just bought a mark 4 20 valve turbo but want to get rid opf the standar stereo in it and replace it with a dvd player and that. is it easy to rip the original one out how much would it cost at a shop ruffly? also when it comes out is there gaps ive seen a few that have had it done then there is a big gap where the original headset is bigger than the ones u buy from the shops any help please??????????

Iv'e read on here about using a cut up credit card to get the sandard stereo out (search the threads, theres plenty of info on here) but removal pins are cheap enough to get from somewhere like halfords. Slide the remova pins in and the stereo shuld come straight out. Thejn just disconnect it etc...

Regarding the gap thats left, you will need a fascia panel (again from somewhere like Halfords) which fills the gap with a cubby hole. It depends on what your going to stick back in there i.e if its a motorized front or a double din dvd player I think.

Well use it as a starting place - you can probably find stuff cheaper online or better still, smaller independent shops which will give you better service!
