Title: Can you fit a golf mk2 8v gearbox on a Scirocco?

Hi,

I'm no expert on cars. My gearbox has gone on my 1987 Scirocco 1.8 GTX. Does anyone know if a Golf mk2 8v gearbox is exactly the same? Appreciate any help on this...I got the number 'AGD 20087' from the underneath of my gearbox.

yes same as 1.8 Kjet gti gearbox from a gti
