Hi,
Its time for some new boots. (Im down to 3mm, but with the summer monsoons we have been having im changing them a little early)
I have been happy with the Bridgestone RE050a nad they are only £107 from mytryres and my local dude will match that.
The michelin Pilot sports are £135, and I have eard good things about them...but are they worth the extra?
Pablo.
Winter performance is not an issue, as I have cheapo alloys with Vredstien Wintracs for the proper winter.

Goodyear F1's ?
-
Goodyear Eagle F1's seconded!
-
I have had both the Goodyear Eagle F1's and Michelin Pilot sports, think the Goodyear Eagle F1's are great tyres but the Pilots had the edge with more feed back to the driver.
-
i use to have toyos on my old car, then went to F1s, much improved!
-
Bridgestone S02's.
Cass

Goodyear F1s are very old technology!

Next months EVO has a performance tyre test results in it.

Will that be online, or will you have to <cough> scan and copy it <cough> ??

fork out the £3 quid odd  or better still get a subscription so you get it before the masses :smug:
will be interesting to see the cars they use to perform the tests

But if I do that, it will be 2.777 (recurring) litres of Tesco 99, which would be better served to the immense thirst of my RS4. :embarassed:

Yeah, if they use a Caterham, or Aerial Atom, it won't really be relevant to my heavyweight RS4
-
To be honest, I lke the RE050s.
Plus I like to keep my car standard, they are the cheapest and I will have a matching set.

How much does it consume, TT? Very interested. How much are the monthly costs of this killer auto?
I have Pilot Exalto on mine. I read some reviews, people seem to like these tires a lot.

The Pilot Exalto PE2 are a very good tyre. Not quite as "hardcore" super grippy as the Pilot Sport PS2, although they are on a par with the older orginal Pilot Sport (directionals). I used to run PE2 on an Astra Sport, and they never let me down, in the dry or wet - even when taking on Scoobys. :smug:

I've just put 4 continental sport contact 3's on & i must say i am very happy with them.
Not so happy about £145 each, but i believe you get what you pay for.

Ohhh . . .
I've yet to try the CSC3s - the CSC2s were OK, but not as good as the Mich PS2s. The new Contis seem to have a softer rubber compound, which should dispel some of the "issues" I had with the older ones.
