Title: Cleaning the seats?! What's best then!?
Post by: eightyeightmph on 13 August 2007, 12:49
Have a nice set of seats in my 16v Mk3 - no rips in the bolsters although they are starting to fade in a couple of places. Just wondering if there is any way of bringing them 'back to black'?!

Advice of product suggestions please

Probably not the best option. I used a wall stripper (steamer) to get the smokey smell out of mine as old owner used to smoke in it. Got rid of the smell and made them pretty clean. Its cheaper than renting out a proper steam cleaner. Don't know if that will bring back the "black" in them tho.

GIVE THEM GOOD WET VAC. THEN WHEN FINISHED AND DRIED YOU CAN BUY BLACK DYE OFF AUTO GLYM. YOU SPRAY DYE ON CLOTH AND SIMPLY WIPE ON. GIVES GREAT LOOK
