Not long bought my gti
Its fitted with an alarm but i do not have the original key or key fob. :undecided:
However i read in my owners book that you can turn and hold the key round to activate it.. what it dosen;t tell you is how to trun it back off.. would unlocking the car work? or would i have a problem on my hands.
not tried it yet
can you get the fob made up.. where would i find out the key serial number?

best bet is to get a new alarm fitted and have the old one removed (should only cost another £30-50)... or try vw as they sometimes hold the correct numbers on there system. It will be a along shot as they dont have much info on mine anymore (I beleive they have to keep info for 10 years?)

if you have no key fob and do not know what alarm it is you would be better off removing the alarm providing it is aftermarket
if it is a factory fit one then you can leave it on the car and just add an aftermarket alarm with no problems
plus with an aftermarket alarm you can have the total closure facility to close all the windows with no extra parts required
where are you based as i am a mobile alarm fitter and i am insurance accredited too
i am in colchester essex
