With a crew of local VW owners...a variety of cars will be there, but my Edition 30 will be going on the rollers, along with a new shape Leon Cupra
Will be interesting to see what the two engines are putting out given that they are basically the same versions...will post pics tomorrow and the obligatory posing power/torque outputs ;)
-
I've got a rolling road day tomorrow as well :) must be the season for it
-
Isn't yours chipped Phope?
-
nope...standard with no mods
Very respectable result though of 249hp and 246 lb ft ...the Leon Cupra went away with 257hp and 226 lb ft...a REVO'd GTI with turbo back exhaust went away with 251hp and 316 lb ft

On the rollers...

One very nice REVO'd GTI with 19" CHs

I want Cupra discs...they are massive compared to the GTI or Edition 30!!

Nice results there
Don't let the R32 brigade see those results otherwise they will be throwing a paddy and asking VW for their money back
Always nice to see how a car fares on a rolling road.
249bhp - I knew VW always underestimates outputs, but 22bhp is 9% over quoted
R32 - 246bhp - 200kg heavier - 4wd transmission losses - I'm not surprised they struggle on a standing quarter against an ED30
All we need to see now is what a chipped ED30 puts out on a rolling road :undecided:
By the way - What petrol were you using?
-
This is my printout from today :) not near yours but mine is nearly 20

By the way - What petrol were you using?
Usually runs on Shell V-Power with occasional Esso Supreme if needs must...was running V-Power today
-
Nice to see that you had more Torque than the Cupra
-
No Doubt about it i like the figures
However, did you ask how / how often they calibrate their rolling road?
-
never had time to ask...the poor guy was rushed off his feet with the queue of cars
The silver GTI had just had REVO reloaded at Checkpoint after being wiped with a necessary VW software update, so he was interested to know what it was doing now - updated map for his since it was originally loaded
Checkpoint have a REVO program for the Edition30 - £586 including VAT for the basic one

Do you have VAG-COM??? If so, I'd be doing some live data logging of the turbo boost (overlay requested turbo boost with actual turbo boost).
I just see two areas of concern on your torque curve.
Firstly, the big dip at 4,000 rpm. Whilst this "dip" is often apparent - due to emissions regs, yours seems worse than normal.
Secondly, the dramatic torque drop off from 4,500 rpm is definately out of spec. The 2.0T FSI should be maintaining a flat, level torque curve all the way to 5,500 rpm, and dropping off nearer to 6,000 rpm. It looks like a possible fault/failure with your diverter valve.
