Title: Arrived at last
Post by: JG911 on 10 August 2007, 19:18
I finally had my GTi delivered and I'm really pleased with it, although it's got 450 miles on the clock it still feels tight.  Do you get a service book (the one that gets stamped when it's serviced) with the cars or is it logged into the computer?  How do you tell whether the car is on a long life schedule, or are they all this way now?

The car I bought was a reposession, the first owner had it one month but couldn't keep up the payments.  I bought it from a main dealer for seven gran below list price so I think I got a good deal.

What's the current favourite chipping route?  Revo seems to get a good write up.

Sounds like a steal

The service book/handbook docs will be with the original owner or recovery agent. Guess you could try to get a replacement via the supplying dealer but it will be a duplicate rather than the original. Might put some people off come resale if you don't have the originals.

Servicing regime can be specified/altered by the dealer - details are in the handbook

Search forum for previous threads on mods - Revo and Bluefin have been covered.

Cass - I' have financed the car via VW with a GFV... it's their risk not mine when it comes to resale time.  i'd prefer to have the service book though.

I'll post some pics tomorrow, were I thought the reccaro seats would be too difficult to live with, they are actually really good.  The painted seat backs are cool.
