Need to replace the rear springs in my 16v. Just looking a standard replacements.
GSF -£25+v
Euro - £15+V
Any difference?
Forgot to ask, whats the ride height on standard springs?
Is lowering by 40mm a lot?

lowering by 40mm on std shocks is ok, as long as you use decent springs. eibach etc... not gmax or anything halfrauds can offer.
40mm just takes the ride height down a little bit, looks alot better than standard, but doesnt really do too much to handling in my opinion.. but there again, i've only driven cars that have had the springs replaced with pants gmax.
my golf has shocks and spring set and it makes such a difference!

Eibach 20mm or 40mm springs, which will firm up the ride and improve the looks, can be used with standard shocks if they are in good nick.
They are about £130 but are top quality.

you'll only see a 10mm drop on your 16v, most spring kits are quoted from the carb MK2, and the 16v is 30mm lower than a carby :)
