Hi - wondering if you guys can help. The other day I went into Halfords for some locking wheel nuts for my Mk3 with Wolfrace Voodoo II's. 5 Stud. Looked in the wee book for the codes etc, got the exact coded set so bought them. When it came to putting them in, it was obvious they were not correct. The diameter was nowhere near the same.
Luckily I returned them (checked the code, it was correct) and got my cash back.
Looking on GSF just now, locking wheels nut sets are only £12.50
I am totally correct when saying that its the car that matters, not the alloys??? So standard nuts will still work on my after market wheels yeah???
Sorry if I sound a bit daft, just don't want to screw the threads!!

you need the right thread & length to match the car, and the right bolt seating to match the alloys. Std VW wheel bolts have a ball seat, and most aftermarkety wheels have a tapered seat :)
Best way to tell is push a ball of bluetak into the bolt hole, and note what shape it comes out!
