Title: Help - What stereo do i have ??

Hi all

i am looking at getting an ipod adapter to fit into my head unit.

not too sure which on i have , basically i think its the uprated one as it holds 6 cds in the dash direct through the head unit.

is this the RCD500..?

Hi yes it mk 5

The stereo holds all the cds inside it - no external cd changer...

if it hold 6 CDs in the dash it isnt a standard VW one thats for sure!

What is RCD500 then? I thought it was a dash mounted 6 cd autochanger like the Audi symphony unit? :huh:

ain't that the standard unit? Even if you get the uprated system the headunit looks the same don't it? I have standard and thats what I have

RCD 500 is the upgraded one with 10 speakers....and 6 CD player  :wink:

im guessing you dont have a 'load' button  :smiley:

Ah yes! Didn't notice that! I have a 'mix' button instead - whatever that does!? Also mine only has 8 main buttons, not 10!
What if you order Ipod connection and rcd500? Does it render the cd changer useless? :huh:

Im guessing not as the 'cd changer' is built and not running off the aux port on the back. Interesting question though. Doesnt matter to be though, Ive got the drive and play by HK running through the cd changer aux on my MFD2. Hoping to get the RNS-510 soonish.
