Title: Diagnostics

I have a MK2 8V GTI, and i was wondering weather its possible to plug in a diagnostics computer too look for electronic faults? I searched every where today and couldnt find anywhere to plug in. Can anybody help me out?

on the drivers side of the dash, near where the vent for the furthest right blower is, under that i think, mine has a port, looks like some kind of computer port... what the hells that for?!? i've been wondering for a while now...

got a '91 H reg 8V...
