I fitted some 40mm springs there a while back but the thing is while the back is lowered fine, the front is still sitting quite high. I've searched and found that I'm not the only one to have this happen, but I couldn't find how to sort it out? Any ideas?
-
Did you compare them to the old springs when you took them off ?
-
Think you can get lowering cups for the front, same as a Mk3.
-
uruk yeah I did, they're shorter alright

Where did you get the picture of len from?? :lipsrsealed: :lipsrsealed:
and the spring cap's only really lower by about 10mm...... I have come accross the front's not being lower and that's due to a one spring fit's all policy and they don't take engine weight etc into account
-
See that's the thing, wouldn't the 8v gti engine be one of the heavier ones? I seem to remember something about bumpstops having something to do with it when I was searching, but no explanation as to why.
-
I don't think bump stop's will effect your problem?? but i know when mine was lowered we had to shortern the original's other wise it hit's these far too early in the suspension travel

16v engines are heavier. Have you bought 16v springs to go on a 8v?
-
It's possible, I didn't get em new but I'd doubt it considering the car they came off was a 1.3 I think, defo not a 16v
