Title: Wooden electri window (also posted in Mk3 section)

Howdy - wondering if you guys can help?

Had my car a few months now, decided this weekend i'd finally look at why the passenger side electric window doesn't work.

Mk3 '94 GTI 16v 3 door.  When activating the switch, I could hear the 'click' each time i pushed the button.  Does this just confirm the switch is good??

Undid the door card, to reveil a plank of wood holding the window in place.  Then the rain came on, so i had to bail out for the evening.

Basically, can any of you guys tell me where to look to see whats broken or any advice really.  I can get my hands on a window mechanism soon if that needs changed.

New window regulator required.
