£535 later..
1990 Golf Gti 8v
Big bumpers and Front fogs probably standard?
Central locking and PAS.. Options or maybe standard?
completly original and VGC interior.. just trying to source and original radio to make it complete again
Team dynamic alloys not to my liking currently on look out for some 14" BBS jobbies
Jetex S/S exhaust with silencers so its nicely quite with abit of a gurgle and spits occasionaly.
Appears to be lowered slighty can see red springs and the ride is pretty stiff, but dont know what make or anything so looking for some maybe budget coilovers so She sits over the 14's nicely.
Tax'd and Tested till November so thats a plus :)
The union to the Steering rack has corroded on the rack side and its lost all PAS fluid pretty much, very close to getting a new rack with pipes though, hopefully the pump hasnt been run dry for too long and will be ok.. if not ive got my eye on one :).

I'd say that was bargin!
looks nice!

ive been waiting and waiting i knew there was still bargin mk2s out there. been around 6 months of searching lol. little bit of rust on bootlid but hardly noticeable my last golf had a complete hole in it lol. couple of specs on the lower door one side and on the start of the rear arch other side.. and a very tiny bit round the wiper gromit which i say for 17 years and 136000 mile is damn good
I used to own a 1.6 1989 driver.. loved it to bits ill have to get a pic of it.. was 3dr black, big bumpers, lowered exhaust, i had to sell it as a i was poor but i changed a few things on it so if i can offer help on this forum mechanically i will try.. things i changed:
Cambelt, and full service
all Flexi hoses as leaking
3 outa 4 brake pipes and unions fooked
both front arms bushes and ball joints
2 CV boots
Both rear axle bushes ( what a pig to do )
both rear shock mounts
one rear shock
Both rear wheel bearings
Front brake pads and rear shoes
Headlamps and spots, some chav sprayed them tinted...
Replaced the carb airbox as a chav had drilled it... then fixed the vacuum thing for exhaust gases to stop it iceing and help warm her up in the mornings
Constantly adjusting mixture on the original 2E2, which after 179000 was a waste of time lol! used to misfire due to overfueling...
man i loved that car

That looks good!
Agreed about the alloys though, they don't look very in keeping, BBSs all the way
-
looks like a bargain.. how many miles?

looks like a bargain! good purchase!

Cheers i think its in a great conidition for the age and mileage 136000ish. soo anyone got any hints tips in changing the rack.. do you have to start droping subframes or is there enough room to undo the bolts holding it, unbolt the spindle, remove piping.. remove trackrod ends/tie rods/or ball joints, then slide it out in situe? .. need to go round my old mans and get my haynes manual really
