it's a new concept I'm trying. Instead of cutting the springs with the angle grinder to get your car lower you snap them. only trouble is it doesn't look any lower. the handling is still just as sh!te.

Both VW and Audi springs are prone to breaking, I've had them go before on my Audi coupe GT. My friendly MOT tester warned me it was something they look for.

Yo i'd look at some other alternatives to the Raceland stuff if you want it to last, I've heard some bad reports. :-\

I'd heard good ones for the money.
I can't afford anything at the mo with this engine swap going on.
Will have to settle with something cheaper than ?600 koni's for now

the supersport ones don't have damping adjustment on them.
Raceland were out of stock so I just bought some 16v -60mm springs for now. Hopefully will be here tomorrow so I don't have to drive anywhere else with a broken spring. Iwent for the 16v ones to cope with my 20v being slghtly heavier than the 8v.

yea but when are you ever gonna adjust the dampening???

if you are putting a new engine in you really need to get some custom coilovers that are setup perfectly to the weihght of your car, and cos you have done an engine transplant no off the shelf kit will be set up for your car.

now you tell me!
I'll tell the lads doing the swap to see if they can get it handling better when the transplant is done.

just been chatting to a mate who put a 2 litre 16V in a nova (yes i know :P) and he got some custom shocks for the front. you might be able to get springs for different weights. surely someone else knows on this site????

Ive seen a lot of people do that, The problem is that that sorta swap has been known to rip the car in two!
