Had an email from my supplying dealer yesterday, offering me £22K for the R32, I'm so tempted.
What do you Guy's think
The car was bought new march this year, and cost me £23.350
-
Assuming you mean £22k... I would say that is 4 months of motoring for £1350.... that is pretty low depreciation!

Agree, doesn't even cover the VAT
-
Thats excellent value for money...
-
sounds like a very fair deal - they must have a buyer ready so you could try for another £250/500.
But do you want to sell & what would you replace it with?

I'm holding out for £22K, I fancy a BMW 325 Coupe, test drive booked for this Saturday

BMW=    Stick with the brand for gods sake man!!

Be a sad world if we were all the same, and i've been fortunate to own both brands, and still drive a BMW for work, so consider a good position to judge.
-
Nowt wrong with BMW's... I guess the brand is suffering from it becoming a more mainstream type of car, but so is VW... thats what it is all about. I mean there are plenty of Golfs on the road now, the GTi is rarer and so therefore has a better cachet, but the new BMW 3 series coupes are hardly common!!
-
Is that the same dealer you bought it from? That is a crazy high price, snap it up if you want out - where is the margin for them?! The potential buyer may as well just buy a new one!

Agree, think their working on the old waiting list game, 12 weeks for anew one, "or you can have this previously enjoyed one now Sir"
-
Ive just been down to my dealer to collect something and they had a 56 plate, black R32 with 18" Black Monzas on it up for £27k

I took a test drive of a 325i before i bought the Golf. The drive was fantastic - really nice car, however......... bit slow!
You really need the 3.0L or most definately the 335i. That engine has had great reviews!

I've a test drive booked for Saturday and have a feeling I'm going to find it a bit slow, but realise most things might feel that way compared to the Golf, except the 335 maybe, but there out of my price range.

Hi Creepy coupe,
So...what is your price range?
It would be a shame to see you part ways with the VW, after all you've had sooo much fun in it.
A BMW Coupe eh! I can see your point....although it's not my cup of tea. :lipsrsealed:
Have you looked at the Lexus IS250? Not a coupe, but I think it looks better, has more gadgets, the engine is silky smooth, it's rear wheel drive (you'll miss the 4WD!) and the ride is just as good as the beemer. Oh and price wise you'll get a better spec.

Hi Hurly
I see your angle re the Lexus, but I have not kids, so 4 doors is not something I need, the 3 series coupe comes with some nice standard kit
Xenon's
Cruise
Auto lights
Auto wipers
electric drivers seat
Buttons on the steering wheel
Duel Zone climate
The one I'm looking at has leather and Bluetooth, I'm sure the LS has more kit though, but it doesn't float my boat.
In answer to your question, my price range is my car plus £5k
thanks for your views, I'm alway intersted in other options

What about a used M3??
-
Crazy running costs on a M3, could you afford it Creepy?
-
crazy running costs?
why is that? they are no dearer to run than a golf is you buy a good un...
i've had 2 in the past and they cost next to nowt to run...
i now use a mk5 golf daily and have a m3 csl in the garage for poncing and track work....
they are an awesome tool and i would recommend anyone owning one....a good E46 M3 is different gravy to anything vw have to offer at this current time, r32 included.

I've been looking at M3's on BMW's web site and around £26k buy a 30k miler, but most at that price are 2003 models and I'd like something a bit newer.

www.bm3w.co.uk is the best website to do some proper research on...if you have a budget of about 25-27k, i reckon you can get yourself into an 04 car easy.
warranty is all important, but bear in mind if you buy private and the car is over 3 years old and the warrranty has been exteneded, the warranty will have an excess of £250 per claim..if you buy from main dealer, then your first 12 months in excess free...irrespective of age of car....also, warranty renewal costs are nearly double if the car has done more that 60k...(1850 vs 1050) sounds expensive i know, but they a tehnical tour de foce and they need looking after by proper people..
have a mooch on the above site..there is a wealth of information on all aspects which will help you no end with your descision!
i reckon find about 5 cars at maind dealers you like....and then set about bidding them in the nuts...one of em will submit...they always do!

^^^^^^^^^^ Thanks for the advice, makes good sense, link doesn't work for me

I saw the first two on the BMW site this morning Paul, first one's a naff colour, and the second had that nasty spoiler, and light grey leather
Agree the vert is a beut, but if I got myself a vert, the missus would never speak to me again, as she has an MX5
-
just get a hard top....take it off when she's gone out!
-
lol
After my track day at Combe in the ED30 there was a guy going around who had picked up an M3 (Y reg) the year before for about 17k. It had 100k on the clock but apart from a few minor scratches looked great, and went like stink! (although I reigned him in on the corners )
My point being you may get a much better deal on an older well serviced car
-

The way things are going Phil, I'm in two minds as to tell the BMW dealer to poke his test drive, as I've ask three times now for the price of the demo car I thought they were trying to sell me.
