Title: new 16v owner
Post by: monkeyalan on 24 July 2007, 20:05

just picked up my 89 valver.

pretty tatty round the edges , few bits of missing/broken trim, needs a new bonnet or respray. i'm happy for the price tho'.

but jesus is it fun after 4.5k revs!

started a dub project thread and will certainly have a few questions for the more knowledgeable amongst you mk2ers.

pitty you'll only be able to use 8 of those 16 valves here in sheffield, due to the rubbish roads and hills and bends and road works and old people and all other obsicles which greatly reduce the fun of driving...

oh yes, nearly forgot the speed cameras!

oh well, hope you have muchos fun!

cheers peeps.

i'm going to have to change the front spoiler for a cl one as i live in speed hump central and even without lowering it, it catches quite a few of them.
Sheffields roads are complete sh!te, the worst in western europe apparently.

it's a good job we've got the peaks right next door.

have you been on the parkway recently? good god!

instead of resurfacing the part that actually gets driven on, they're resurfacing the part in the middle... how very clever. also instead of working at night, they work in rush-hour...again only sheffield council would be totally stupid enough to do this...

cheers dude.

the parkway is a fooking right cart track.
for anyone who doesn't know it , it's the major dual carrigeway from Sheffield city centre to the M1 and it has a 1/4 mile section which can only be described as errr....well it's like driving across the ruts in a ploughed field.

it's so embarrasing  :embarassed:
