Title: Determining which cylinder is which - coil pack failure 1.8 T GTi
Post by: jambouk on 24 July 2007, 20:04
I've got a Golf 2002 T GTi and a garage has shown there is a misfire in cylinder 2, which fits with the intermittant problem I have whislt driving.

I suspect its the coil pack, buit how do I know which is cylinder 2s coild pack looking at the engine? Is is the second on the left or second on the right?

cylinders are normally numbered form the cambelt side, so in your case its probably second from the left.

I would change out all the plugs just in case as they might have been damaged from the coil packs missfiring.
