dudes! just moved into a rat caddy. all very good but i have a paddling pool in the drivers side floorpan! not overly desirable really, anyone got any ideas as to where my leak is?
-
a hole?
Dinx

i had this prob in my mk2 gti turned out to be rust round the windscreen rubber pushing it out so it dont seal to the body properly and allowing it to seep in. Also if the bonnet catch is on the driver side check the rubber thats seals it going through the scuttle pannel under the bonnet. Hope this helps man

Check bulkhead and make sure the inner wing drain holes are not all full of cr@p and (most likely) water. Have a look in the mk1 maintenance section too as there'a a couple of threads about leaks in there if I remember correctly.

ive got the same, my drain channels are clear, bit of crud in the scuttle but not enuff to obstruct water flow but i think its going dowwn the heater matrix (my fans not worked for months, maybe water getting in was the readon)
-
thanks dudes and dudette, have resealed heater matrix and screen is fine bonnet cable is on pas side so no joy there, must look for holes i guess as it seems to come in along the sill somewhere
-
how did you reseal the heater matrix? is there a seal that fits round it that you can buy as a part or did you just get something else to seal it with? im hoping that will solve my problem as its gradually getting more and more in the drivers footwell and ive got a bit of electrics behind there!!!
-
this happened to my mums car , could be the sealing around the doors ?
can you hear wind blowing into the passenger side when driving 30 mph +?
-
Man def check the front window screen seal around glass little bit of rust holding it up allows water through.

Unsure of the caddy, but on the mk2 if the plastic is missing from under the doorcards then water comes in through the doorcards and makes lovely puddles in the rear footwells. could be.......

nice thought dude but been there and tried that, have now located the culprit
