Title: Wheels won't fit?!
Post by: Greedy on 24 July 2007, 09:12
I've got a 96 (N) Golf Gti. It had 17" wheels on it when i bought it. They are nice wheels altho the woman who had it before me must have been riding along the kerb with them! My dad had a 96 Audi A4 with 17" on it. But, much to my surprise, they won't fit on my golf?! He has just got a new golf mk 5 aswell and bought RS4 alloys for it and even the alloys that were on his golf when he bought it won't fit on mine either!?! Is there anyway u can get a fitment for the wheels to fit or shall i just have to fork out and buy new wheels??

I believe Golf MK3 is 5*100 wheres the A4 and the MK5 Golf is 5*112

^^ I think R98 there is right, you should be able to fix the problem with hub convertors:

Or did you mean that they won't fit because they're just plain too big?! From what I've seen on here 17s will only fit on a Mk3 with really low profile tyres, so if they've come off another car they might need changing.
