Title: Bucket Seat Subframes

Hi,

I picked up a Mk2 GTi at the weekend which is going to be stripped and used as a track car.

I'm looking at getting some bucket seat in it but i'm a bit confused about what to do about sub frames.

I want to use fixed back seats and since the car is a 5 door they don't need to tilt.

I've been looking around on Ebay and a few other sites today and i can't get things clear in my head. Am i able to just simply buy a subframe bolt it to the floor and bolt the seat to it or do i need to use the runners off the existing seats and do some fabrication work?

it depends if you get tailor sub frames or universal ones.if you get the ones for the seats its a case of bolt and fit.if not you might have to do a little welding n things

Sweet, so say if a buy some Cobras they will do a frame that fits straight into the Mk2 without mods then without butchering the frames the standard seats are on?

Not too fussed if i really have to weld the frames to the car though as this will be it's last horah!
