Title: MK2 Doors: Can a two piece window door be adapted to use a one piece window?
Post by: mookie on 23 July 2007, 19:33
I've got a 1990 GTi with the later larger one piece windows, however I've been offered a pair of better condition doors in the same colour but with the two piece windows etc.

I'm not sure what the differences are beyond the obvious, but is it possible I can adapt the two piece doors to replace my one pieces? I suppose the main issue will be the wing mirrors? Or is it not as simple as all that? Not sure this is worth pursuing to be honest, but I was curious.

Even if you could then you'd surely need to fix the hole left by the mirror, which would cost a lot to get done properley?
