Title: audio install help
Post by: SteveS on 23 July 2007, 10:26
Hi,
I need to get some cables back to the boot of the car for audio!
0awg cable
3phonos
1 remote-on.

Now i have looked and cant see anywhere really easy to put the cables... im thinking down (under the door) is really the only option.

had anyone pulled that plastic up and know if there is much space??? :-| or any other ideas?

someone must have installed cables?

In the boot there are several bungs!. the first image would be best, but i cant find where the thing comes out under the car... any ideas ??
the second is under the spare wheel, which is an alrite location, goes strait out under the car, which is good but need another sort of bung to seal the gap...
third pic comes out between the exchaust valance (silver heat stuff) so cant use those.

Me to. Without trying to stereotype, the Mk5 is more expensive, so therfore going to attract a slightly older buyer who might not be as inclinded to start adding amps, speakers etc the their car. Just a thought.

Mate has just landed in his GTi and the grommet is there with no cable running through - you may have to remove the battery to access it.

ahh, i really dont want to take the battery out... it looks like removing the plastic trim is fine. just tigher than ya ford! lol

however its finding the hole into the cabin that could be a problem. i tried looking before but couldnt find much?

Remove the panel at the rear of the glove box and you will find it!

do you mean from the inside of cabin to the engine bay?

yes but it wasnt very useful. already this thread has helped me more. and i was originally asking about the trim inside, not the hole behind the glovebox
