Title: Mk1 - how much?
Post by: nefarious on 18 July 2007, 20:19
I'm in the market for a MK1 gti (in a few months anyway). How much would one in a good usable condition cost? I've seen some advertised from a few hundred pounds through to three and four thousand. I'm looking for fairly standard, solid bodywork etc. What do you reckon?

i think you would have to look around the £1500 mark to find a clean and looked after one. just try and look for ones that have plenty of bills etc

You also want to register on this website as it's solely mk1s http://www.vwgolfmk1.org.uk/ They don't allow anything but mk1 stuff to be sold in the classifieds. Also check out this site http://www.matey-matey.com/golf_buying_guide5.shtml

Thanks folks. Pretty much what I had in mid to be honest. Waiting to get back in the the VW fold. Used to have a mk1 Jetta back in the day. Ended up selling it for £50 when the water pump packed in and it sat in the garage for a year.
