Hello all,
I have today bought an 1995 MK3 Golf GTi 8 valve! 5 door, dark red, black leather. 106,000 miles and loads of history. Just had a recon gearbox and new clutch too. Drives really well and I am made up. Paid a deposit and collect it on Saturday. Can't wait!
Looking forward to bombarding you all with stupid questions as I get to know my way around it.
Mark.

£1250 with 5 litres of synthetic, oil filter and a timing belt thrown in. It also has VR6 BBS alloys. The front 2 are in need of a bit of TLC so I have 2 more of the same wheels in the deal also.
Any good?

Thanks! I didn't think of a 16v to be honest. I think the cheaper insurance and better fuel economy will be enough to keep me smiling.

Sounds pretty good i paid nearly twice that for a clean 98 Gti 8v 5 door with 66k and air con!!
What mods you got planned?

None really, I like to keep my cars standard. I will refurb the alloys and just give her a good detailing. The interior is really immaculate so when the wheels are done and it is well polished it will look ace!

Picked up the car on Saturday and drove the 80 miles home. Well impressed. According to the computer thingy over 40 mpg on the motorway at 70-75 mph! How accurate are these things?
Gave the inside a quick clean and found a James Blunt CD under the drivers seat!
