Well my car has just hit the 1,000mile mark. Up to this i have already fitted a Forge short shift, Carbonio intake, Bluefin and finally today i had a Milltek Cat Back system fitted along with the Forge blow off valve.
I couldn't be bothered to wait for the bespoke ed30 milltek system and Cat Back is plenty loud enough (Non-resonated). Car has a much more deeper note, not too intrusive, though is kinda miss the OEM part, maybe cos my car is still so new.
The Blow off Valve may not be everyones liking here, but i loved the sounds of the wastegate chatter in scoobs, GTRs and EVOs. So being my first turbo car, i had to get one. WIndows up, can't hear it, but windows down, you get a nice whistle.
I hope you guys don't think i have just destroyed and chavved up a classy car.
Also, what type of MPG are you bluefin owners getting? I'm ranging from 26-29MPG, whereas standard i use to get 28-32MPG. I'm sure i read here about someone getting better MPG with the Bluefin.

blow-off valve on Ed30 :lipsrsealed:
cat-back is pointless, especially if you have engine tune-up. With full system you get many more benefits (REAL ones) besides the deeper sound track.
-
I'm very interested in what you think of your short shift K1
-
Peskarik i wouldn't say Cat back is pointless, i'm not buying an exhaust for power, have enough power from the remap anyway, 300+bhp through the front wheels is plenty enough. The Cat back note is deep enough for daily use, don't think i can go turbo back, think it will be too noisy. My friends like the Blow off noise, just depends what you like.
@ Creepy The short shift is ok, cheap at only 8o quid, but whilst it shortens the throw very noticibly, it is slightly more notchy, but has loosened up a tad now. Its not as good as say replacing the whole shaft of the gear stick with a metal one. I had done this to my previous cars (astra and rx-8). This makes for a much more positive feel and there is no flex from the gear stick as you get with the plastic OEM one. So shifts feel more heavy and precise, rather than the loose easy feel of the OEM part. Can't complain tho, only 80 quid and 15min fitting time.

^^^ Cheers K1

Can I ask how much the exhaust set you back?
Im looking for a better soundtrack on mine because Im a little bit disappointed with the standard one to be honest after coming from a Focus ST.
-
got mine for 360. Yes oem does suck. Drove my mates st and it sounded much nicer. Cant get rid of the crappy diesel like engine note tho lol.

Have to say, thats the only good thing about of the Focus ST, the soundtrack from inside was truely superb, real shame Ford balls'd up on pretty much most other things. The New look Focus does look impressive, lets hope they finally get it right

using the search function i found this post, i have heard someone on here had fitted a milltek to their ed30 but obv not the bespoke one??
anyhows, a mate of mine from cupra.net had his MK2 Leon Cupra down at Milltek today getting a OEM looking exhaust system, came away with a 3" sports downpipe and a catback system, milltek dont think a turbo back is nes.he is well impressed and has noticed a dif when added to a carbonio intake too. They reckon the 3" is the way to go over the 2.75" version, he has noticed an improvement in top end power, this has yet to be tested on a r/r. He is now holding off from a remap as he is that impressed with the new milltek system, this will now be getting launched for the new cupra's, oval tailpipe to boot.

how does this work? they fit new downpipe, connect it to original cat and then add on from the cat back? :undecided: I don't have enough knowledge about these things. :embarassed:
-
current oem has 2 cats i think, 1 in the downpipe and other in centre section, this one they do away with releasing extra oomph??
says it has a very nice sound to it too.
-
Milltek's Hi-flow aka Turbo-back isn't any noisier than their Cat-back - It's the Non-Resonated straight pipe middle section which is 'noisier' (only slightly) than the Resonated centre box.
-
I thought that the ED30 one was going to be a full system including a sports cat. fastismycopilot on UK MKIV's had the development milltek fitted to his as they developed it on his for about a week.
-
Can you bring up some pics of your car K 1

i spoke to miltek about this cause i have a resonated gti system,in garage from old mk5 gti and asked if i could fit to ed30,they said that all they are developing is the sports cat and downpipe part of the system due to larger turbo, cat back is same and i could fit no probs.
