Hi all,
I have always wondered why this is? I thought initially there were air intakes for the V6 where the fogs were normally but on closer inspection im not so sure  Have VW not added them simply for a different look?
Im not annoyed my R doesnt have fogs but just always wondered why

I think that they ommited them to let more air in for cooling.

That's my understanding of it too.

Foggies make a car look sportier in my opinion.
Cant believe they didnt add them to R32.........

Function over form, I'drather have good cooling than "sporty looks" but Ideally I'd rather have both.

Xenons as standard mean fogs are pretty useless.
Had them on cars for years and never really had a use for them. lets face it they are mainly used incorrectly and add little to driving in the fog. I once had a calibra where they were in the main headlight cluster - pointless.
Having said that have you noticed the Audi R8 running lights series of bright LED's (saw them on an A8 too).
Prepare to see the same happen to factory fit headlight units as the maxpower brigade have done too rear clusters......

I saw an S5 the other day with the same - seriously bright leds on the front. Looked a bit 'bling' to be honest but maybe the look will grow on me.

The only the thing my fog lights where good for on my last car was getting pulled over by the police because I didn't know I had them on.

That's tosh really! I two have BFO radiators behind my foggies on my RS4, as well as the main rad!

I just think it is more to do with creating an "image" for the R32, and then sticking to it. :nerd:

"I think that they ommited them to let more air in for cooling. " That was the reason that they gave with the original R32, but I agree with TT.
