mine flashes for a bit at first anyway. have you elt the engine get up to temp? sometimes mine flashes until it's up to temp, this could be due to air lock when you filled up the coolant :)
let it get up to temp and let us know :)

gets to temp ok, fan comes on ok guage sits at about halfway.
How would i know if it was air locked?
Heater aint that hot right enough
But all the hoses are hot

got it sorted mate.
What happened was.... when i drained the system of all the coolant, replaced the bottom hose and refilled with new coolant, however where the level sensor sits in the expansion tank did not get fluid. Noticed there was nothing in it when i removed the sensor.
All i did then was remove the filler car to release pressure which in turn fills the sender hole, refit sender unit and start car
Would you believe it she works a treat.
Would never of thought that that would of happened in a million years. And i work in a bloody garage for a living,
Thought i was loosing it fo a bit there, but thanks for the advice/help earlier mate.
