Title: bonnet earthed?!

what does the earth do that goes to the bonnet? its got to be an earth because its that kind of strap and it just bolts on. ive seen them on escorts as well? they cant do much because mine snapped today but everything on the car still works?!

mines been snapped for over a year now, keep saying i'm gonna sort it  :rolleyes:

yeah, i noticed that had got more often recently, before it finally snapped, I reckon thats it, cheers for that.

It's incase your battery etc short's on the bonnet......(I've seen that happen and cause a fire!!)

I've been told it's to reduce RFI/EM interference from ignition system, big faraday cage perhaps, but general grounding to prevent build up of charge would be good practice too.
