Title: colour concept?
Post by: lexie on 11 July 2007, 18:45
hi there, i've been on these forums before asking about mk4's but need a bit of info about a colour concept gti. my girlfriend is a fan of all things 'golf', especially the older models, and instead of the mk4 she originally wanted she's now looking at a colour concept mk3.

firstly are these pretty rare, and how hard is it to find a decent one?
also how well does the leather wear on the seats, gaitors etc?
and is the blue colour the come in 'jazz blue'? this is the colour of mk4 she would've liked and if she could get a mk3 in this colour it would tick all the boxes i reckon.

i was loking for one of thse before i got my 16v and theyre nice cars although not as rare as you would think. the leather tends to be very hard wearing although theyre 10 years old or so now so could use a good valet and leather restoring treatment.

yes the blue colour is jazz blue and imho is the best colour of them all :)

i've only seen one around where i live, and only a few mk3 gti's, so it would be pretty individual

what wheels are people liking for the mk3? euro, vw/audi replicas?

there's a beautiful vr6 down the road a bit from me on 17" bbs something or other and it looks sweet but blatently copying might be a bit sad

their was a jazz blue one on ebay, but the drivers seat was terrible, i mean very badly worn, ripped and it looked as tho the foam was partly missing inside the bolster too, so im not sure just how strong the leather is.
maybe the owner had a larger figure??

black are the best in my opinion:)

I very nearly bouht a jazz blue 3 door a couple of months back with 90k for just under £2k
The interior was pretty good, just the steering wheel and gear knob where worn slightly.
They are about and are a little different!!!!

The only real problem with them is that they are only 8v!

Seen quite a few round here and there is a lovely yellow Cabrio in my street! The rarest of the colours is green.

Keep looking mate sure you will find one.

I thought all Colour Concepts as standard anyway were only 8v?
did look at one 16v but it turned out to be a 8v with a 16v engine fitted later in its life.
