Where did the four off-takes go? Or were they merely capped?
If they were just capped then it shouldn't make any difference as long as they are airtight.

The higher hose on the airbox ( which has the t-piece on it) was capped and so where the hoses that it was supposed to connect to. Also on the the throttle body, the passenger side hose ( again with the t-peice on it) was capped too. i have re connected most of them but i dont know what would have been acheived by doing this in the first place.
I have'nt  re connected the the other end of the t-piece which comes from the Throttle body as i dont know where it goes.
hope that made some sense!

im near enough sure this is to cut of the overrun valve which was installed by VAG for an extra 1-2mpg - by blocking it off the car is more responsive coming on an off the throttle

there was a discussion about this a few months ago. ill see if i can dig it up
