Had a major oil leak recently which has just been fixed now when driving along a buzzer sounds and my oil light flashes, any ideas on what the problem is?and how much roughly it could be to fix?
-
i know it may sound stupid but have you checked the oil level?
-
 that was my first check and its full, not sure if it could be one of the oil pressure switches as i have had one of them replaced.
-
next thing to do from there then is to actually have the oil pressure checked
-
It could just be a faulty sensor, fingers crossed.
Do you know what work was done to fix the oil leak? The buzzer is low oil pressure, so anything done to the oil pump? And does the buzzer come on above a certain RPM or all the time?

I had the rocker cover gasket replaced and a oil pressure switch replaced,it was the one above the oil filter on the 1.8 8v engine, not sure if the garage i took it to got the right sensor as the one that came off had a white cap and the one he replaced it with had a black cap.would this make a difference as one of the ppl at my local vw dealership think it mite.the buzzer noise kicks in at just over 2000rpm and then stays on all the time till i turn the ignition off.

i had this problem, replace both switches, and the pump, then realised there was a loose spade connector... still flickers at idle once warm, but think this is because of a slightly low idle...
check the connectors... then replace the sensors. but if u can find anywhere thats willing to do it, have it pressure tested, that will put your mind at rest.

thanks for all your suggestions guys,i found out the problem earlier on today, the garage that i took it to had put the wrong pressure sensor in. they put a low pressure switch in but i needed to have the high pressure switch. i feel so
