Thinking of getting one of these for my golf after I found my first stone chip

Anyone know where I can get these any cheaper from? Also it says "do not keep it on for more than 7 days".. why is this then?

ask illyan, hes also got a bra!! just kidding, he had one on his Range of Mk5's, might be worth dropping him a private message

I've just got back from the USA and wondered why a bunch of the cars out there had these bloody awful looking things on their bonnet's (sorry Hood's to put them into the right context).
I'd never known what they were called, so they were affectionately known as 'gimp masks' for cars... (what does that tell you about how my mind works!)
The one for the Golf looks 'ok' if you're into that sort of thing.... But this one looks truely perverse...

I have seen these on cars in the States and they look crap. If you get a stone chip deal with it.....chips away will sort it out for £100 or so .

Are you on about the cars in the states or the bras - even the yanky Golf looks crap, TBH  I would rather pay a few quid for one of these than have to put up with loads of stone chips  and at £100 a pot they would be darn expensive stone chips at taht!!!
Anyone answer the original question?

LOL... :embarassed: I do like wearing bra's though - they look so cool. You should all try it sometime
Seriously though, I bought the bra from Ann Summers for £69.99. It was quite pricey as it was made of pure silk but it fits nicely as I have petite man-boobs at size 34A, a result of eating too many cakes - err... hang on what bra are we talking about here? Oh um you mean a car-bra? !! .... lol  - arkward laughter - sorry guys :embarassed: :embarassed: yes, of course, the car-bra. After all this is the Golf Forum and not the other forum that I normallly go to .
Ok ahem - clears throat - the Golf GTI bra was purchased from www.autobra.co.uk and the fit and quality were excellent compared to the poor fit of the Mk2 Golf car-bra (as opposed to the ones I wear at home) However, as the autobra site recommends, you shouldn't leave the bra on for too long as it accumulates dirt underneath - no matter how good the fit - and when the bra moves about - even if not noticeable - it will scratch the paintwork. I got around this by going to Halfords and covering the front of the bonnet with stonechip protection film and then putting the bra on top. I wouldn't recommend putting the bra on a bonnet without a film underneath as with time you are bound to get small scratches on the lacquer over a long period of time which would probably polish out - but I couldn't polish a new car being a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to maintaining my cars.

i was looking for this bra too, is it leather?

Sorry, but the idea of a bra on a GTI is just
Just my humble opinion of course

I to think they look Pant's, for me it like leaving the plastic sheeting on a new sofa, and taking it off just before you sell it, enjoy your car/sofa in it's full glory, and as said, get a £200 bonnet respray if you really want to look good a the time you sell it/.

exactly!
and, personally, I am of the same opinion regarding mudflaps

Why not have proper Stone Protection Film put on the car? You only see it when close up. Already have it on my RS4 and thinking about having it installed on the Golf.
I think the name of the companye is VentureShield and worth having it fitted professionally!

I have rhinoshield on my GTI and it is really good. I had it fitted the day before I picked up my car and it has protected the whole nose very well. It doesnt swirl, smear, go yellow under sunlight etc etc. Had a BMW before my GTI and if you know about paint you will know BMW is terrible quality and chips very easily. It was £350 from http://www.rhinoprotect.co.uk/ (http://www.rhinoprotect.co.uk/) and could not fault the service. There are alot of companies that do this film, its made by 3M. Went with Rhino Protect and know someone with new 911 turbo and it looked really good on that. Here are some (rather poor, sorry sunlight) pictures so you get an idea what it looks like. But would recommend it to anyone if you love to keep stone chips away, also covers the headlights, and basically anything thats painted on the nose of the car and the wing mirrors. Best thing is, not may people notice it, which is good because those bra's look pants! I:cool:

I've got stone chip film fitted as well and it's not invisible but it doesn't stand out like a car bra. I went for Paint Shield. I hate stone chips and i've not got much faith in after market resprays either.
