Title: Oil pump torque settings
Post by: perryqhill on 07 July 2007, 15:14
Right I'm just about to refit my oil pump on my 89 GTi 16v, has anyone got a Haynes manual (or anything similar) to hand which would tell me what they are?

Cheers for any reply.

Could anyone tell me what this is and is it important?

Wondering as one of the pegs that fixes it on has broke, however it still fits on tightly.

Its a kind of windage tray/swirlpot thingy, just helps with oil starvation and drag on the crank a bit. Not too important, but if as you say its still held on firm you'll be ok :)
