Title: FRONT MUDFLAPS GTI/ED30
Post by: ed30 on 03 July 2007, 17:22
Hi guys,
anyone fitted front mudflaps to their gti/ed30 :nerd:
i know its not a cool topic but im fed up with cow sh**t and dirt coming off front wheels  especially the roads we use.
Do they work ok,any problems with fitting?? im not to bothered about the rear or do they come in packs of four??
Its not fair on my wife washing the car all the time

I personally did not fit them but as part of the 'deal' I had them fitted on to my GTI, they are a special part
for the GTI and work very well. They come as fronts and rears, afaik, and use some of the existing wheel arch liner attatchment points and some template drilled points to attatch. I am fairly sure the dealer told me the fronts were okay to fit as you can turn the wheels for access but the rears need wheels off.

You used to be able to get the genuine GTI Mk5 mudflaps from Silverwagen on ebay or by calling them on
01226 299494, I can't seem to find them on ebay at moment though!

There was a thread on here ages ago about mud flaps.  I'll see if I can find it.

I got my VW dealer to fit them on my new GTI last year. AFAIK, the price was not more than £50 for both front and rear fitted

The eBay prices are £33 per set + postage

I got the mudflaps done as part of the sales package when I bought the Golf so I don't know how much they retail at, I thought I had a VW part number on my invoice for them but I cannot locate it at present, only way to be sure is approach your local stealer for a price I suppose!!
