As the title says really - trying to source the plugs and that to create the loom, and find the exact locatinos to which everyting should be connected, but it's porving tricky as. Some breakers have all the bits, switches, motors etc, but not the switch loom, anyone any idea? :undecided:
-
WHICH MODEL HAD THEM ON? AND FORM WHAT YEAR?
-
Just G60's as far as I know?
-
rocking horse sh!t springs to mind.
i tried the dealers and they told me that the loom is no longer available.
motors and switches are but not the loom.
some of the vans from the same years had them too.
it was just g60's too.
-
i dont understand why the loom isnt available its lsited in etos but i dont udnerstand how you buy a complete loom they only seem to offer the plugs and sh!t to patch one up..
got the motors from germany complete with LHD headlamps for around £15, got the switch, and the rest of the dash switches for 6.. Need the loom now.. its the fact that breakers ahve all the bits but no loom, that annoys me.

Ive got my eye on these
found a place where they sell them new with VAG switches

do they have the Loom?

Ive heard that they dont come with a loom but come with connectors. Thats the only problem. You can always extend the wires

It was always an option on MK2s in the UK, but rarely fitted. Its not std on G60s either, except in Germany after 90 or 91 fitment of electrically adjustible headlights became mandetory, which is why many G60s/Rallyes etc seem to have them fitted. This also includes MK1 cabbies, extremly hard to find but it was available!

jsut spoke tos oemone who binned a car with it on just 2 weeks ago, took everything but forgot the loom.. didnt even occur to him, and it was a RHD setup!! ARRGH
-
that red mk2 by chance?
surely the loom isnt that hard
they are just electric motors with a switch
-
that is true, but some people like to have it completly OEM, me for one ;)

I think that the plug for the motors is usually already there. It certainley was on my old 8 valve and 16 valve. It was part of the headlamp loom. The only part you will have to source or make up is the loom from the fuse box to the switch and where the relay goes.

haveney heard of a relay being needed at all? :undecided:
the plug is there, as they are in the bay, even on my 1300, but its jsut finding it, it changed on a chassis break in 1991.. so wether some of the late 90specs had mk3 plugs or what, im not sure.. as john said to me on the oom they fitted to j_s' car, it had a red 2 pin plug the other end, think this is the one ima need to source fro vag rather than the T plug i have already.
