Just a quick note to introduce myself, SharpGTI.
I`m an avid VDub fan and has been since before I past my test.... a few years ago now!!
Owned since then
1986 Rocco 1.8 GTX - Blue/green colour (never found out the name)
1990 Rocco 1.8 GT - White
1988 Golf GTI - Also white
2000 Golf GT TDI 110 - Silver
1983 Golf 1.8 GTI MK1 - Lhasa Green (Still own)
2001 Polo GTI - Silver (Still own)
Daily car is the Polo but my pride and joy is the Mk1. This car is a project in progress and there is tons of useful stuff I have found on here..... keep up the good work.
Always try to make the events .... next one will be the Santa pod 8th July.

hi there! great past collection!

Hi. Like your car choices
I am right in thinking that the polo and mk1 are related, ie share a modified chassis?
Hope to see you a GTI festival then. Are you bringing the mk1? I've got a busy week to get mine ready, flood and pothole damage im afraid
-
Are you in the flooded area then? Bad news that, I`m lucky I`ve just got very wet!
No not bringing the MK1 its not quiet ready for the road yet!!
Have decided to give a full makeover so have started stripping it down for a paint job.
Going to keep it standard looking to a degree as I`ve always liked the factory finish. Dont want to spoil it too much if you know what I mean.
A few mods will be better brakes, new wheels, suspension and wiring mods to improve the candles in the headlights!!
Planning to document the whole thing so keep an eye out for the post.
Thanxs all 4 the welcome messages.
-
Totally know what you mean about electrics!
ive actually done my car @rseway forwards..respray, new wheels etc..
now im wanting to take all the elecs out and start again..
would have been easier if id done it all in the beginnin..but thats the logic of a woman..we just want everything to be pretty!

I went through some water that turned out to be deeper than thought, some came in through passender door. It also ruined a front wheel bearing - tonights job!
