Title: MK1 CAB ON 17" Will they fit??

17" wheels does mean that there could be possible body mods to get them to fit properly

 17" fitted with 205/40/17 Tyres

I used to have mine on 17's and they ran fine until I fitted lowering springs, then found they would rub on the arches, even with them rolled.
Best suggestion would be 16's with 40 profile tyres, if you want to lower it any

It is a gti +16v cab so is it lower than other cabs?

I've never heard of a GTI+16v cab .   Do you mean its just had a 16v engine dropped into it?

If so then it shouldnt be any lower - got any pics of it, should be able to tell if its lower from them

sorry, planted 16v last year took it for a spin and put it back in garage straight away!!,
Saving up for big brake and wheel con ;D
