-
Remove the centre lead from the distributor, is there a spark from the coil?
-
yeah the coil is sparking.
i have just noticed that a black wire which is hanging. it comes along with the wires that go the idle stabliser valve and the ones that go to the injection rail. any ideas where that goes?
-
Can you put a pic on the gallery?
Have you removed the distributor?
If you have then make sure it is engaged in the slot.
-
sorry i cant put picture up. i havent taken the distributor out but have taken the cap off.
-
if you need a distributor then i have a spare for sale Raj
Digifant engine i take it?
-
cheers mate but i dont think its the distribuor because its sparking the plugs.
-
Is the ignition timing correct?
Try cranking the engine while a mate turns the dizzy back and foward.
-
Did you plug the injector connection in?.
Steve.
-
Good shooting Steve ;)
Could that be the connector thats not plugged in?
-
did u mean the plug that goes on the rail?
-
Yes.
-
that connected.
there is a black wire which comes along with fuel rail connection and the ISV connection wud u knw where that goes??
-
What sort of terminal on the end, square plug, spade or ring?. Is the wire insulation black or the protective covering?. Is the fuel pump running, wind the engine for a second then release the key and you should hear the pump buzzing for a second or two.
Steve.
-
there aint no terminal on there, my fuel pump is working aswell.

The only thing I can think of is that it is the earth wire that goes on the rear stud on the cam cover. This should not stop it from running tho. Retime engine at tdc no1, check cam timing mark, unclip dist cap and make sure the rotor arm is pointing the same way as the notch in dist body. #1 ht lead should correspond with this possition and recheck the firing order. If you have fuel, spark and the timing and firing order are ok, something should happen :-\Steve.
