Title: Geting them nasty marks out.
Post by: gooseuk on 29 June 2007, 14:25
Ok so looking at me mk4 golf today after washing it. And i see marks etc all over the place. I manage to get some out with t cut. But the bonnet ones just stick out a bit more and are doing me head in lol.

Any thing other than t cut to get them out? Or if i am that botherd re spray it.

Looks like scratchers. A few on the bonnet i will take a pic and show you. There not like dug in or anything its just a surface issue.

I tried t cut like i say and does nothing.

you on about swirl marks?? you need an agressive polish and a lot of elbow grease to get them out.  Or alternatively you need a Porter Cable (machine polisher) and a very steady hand otherwise you'll go right through the paint

check out www.detailingworld.co.uk for more info.

try something like Meguairs Scratch X and their foam applicators; do a small patch at a time and be prepared for a lot of effort!

after you've removed them make sure to use lambswool mitts and ditch the sponge (you may already have) otherwise you'll inflict more damage

Personally i can't be bothered so I'm paying someone to do it for me!! Results on Sunday :afro:
