Need a new set of rear springs for the 16v.
Are 8v and 16v standard springs the same size?
I was looking at GSF/Euro standard springs....worth while or should I go for something different????
-
16v springs are 10mm lower than 8v springs
-
would that mean my jplate 8v gti is 10mm lower than any other 8v as its a "run out" edition with all the 16v spec????
do i have bigger brake discs aswell ?? ill have to measure them
-
dont assume it has 16v springs on it, it may or may not! Peiople say the last 8vs had the 16v brakes, but I've seen no proof to back this up...

Sorry for the Hijack but I think its relevant.
My 91 model 8v has springs I cant identify. They are original. They have one paint make green and one paint mark orange at the front.
RubJ (or anyone) do you have any ideas what they are?
btw, my etos / etka does not list them

Neither does mine! I can find that marking for the rear spring, but I'm sure there's no way a rear one is going to work up front. The only thing close is ones from a 1.3 which has a blue & orange paint mark, but your nose would be sky high I'm sure! Either that or one of the paint marks has worn off, the PB is listed to have 2 green & 1 orange...

Strange isnt it. I have checked both sides and its the same.
There is also 191 411 105 R 1 paint mark orange.
btw, my car had some options fitted like elec recaro's but apparantly only aircon warrented different springs. It defo has PB shockers on!
I think a mark rubbing off is likley but I am not convinced at all :undecided:

the other explanation is the spring you have was dropped in favour of a newer type :)
