Anyone on here running Nitrous on the MK2 (especially 16v)
Been doing a bit of digging and it sounds BIG fun!!!
Juts thought I'd ask see if anyone has any real MK2 experience!
-
A friend of mine had it on an old Pug 309 GTI, it was on a microswitch at full throttle.
He said it was the most insane thing he had ever driven !!
-
i was talking to a bloke the other day who was about to fit nitrous in his scirocco and his mate swore by it, im pretty sure he said to run it safely half the original power figure of the standard engine and that should be the biggest shot you run
-
sounds a cheap wat to get lots of power
I realise it runs out, but it would only be a bit of fun now and again!!
-
a chap that goes to our local meet runs a huge amount of nos through his mk3, again on a microswitch at full throttle
-
dont you have to uprate you pistons or any other parts of your engine to prevent damage to your engine? :undecided:
-
don't believe so!
as long as your engine is in good condition, I've read a vw short block can easily take 50 shot and alot more with a progressive controller!
-
what about a rebuilt 2.0l conversion thats fully lightened and balanced polished and ported with fast road cam. done just over 1k in her. would she take it? oh er
would it be worth doing?
and
how much for a basic set up?
-
from my very limited knowledge the best you can get is wizards of nos, I think there streetblaster kit is about £450??
or:

but it would need a few extra bits
one went for £250 the other day!
I'd give your motor a few more mile yet!
