Title: Heating Problem
Post by: KelsoGti on 27 June 2007, 12:18
Ive just got my Golf mk2 gti 8v and have a little (hopefully not head) problem
my heaters blow cold all the time, the engine temp gauge goes left and right like a horizontal yo yo :P lol
my light came on last night so switched it off,

this happened to me on my scooby wrx import and it was just an airlock, the AA sorted that out at the side of the road by emptying the system from a certain pipe.

Does anyone know which pipe i need to empty the system with to get the air out??!

many thanks for any suggestion

does it have the heater bypass valves fitted as these could be blocked, you can use a couple of bits of 22mm copper pipe to bypass them and then see what the heaters like

on the coolant pipes where they go into the car there should be 2 plastic connector bits linked together with a small piece of pipe
