Greetings and Salutations, its time for some new tyres. as you can see i have mk4 turbo wheels on my lil old mk2 and i want to put some stretched tyres on.
i have 205/55/16's on at the mo, will 195/40/16's look good or should i go thinner? :undecided:

Them wheels actually suit the car better than i would of thought!
The thing with switching the tyre profiles about is that it will mess up your speedo calibration, you need to fins one of them websites that can calculate the difference in readings depending on what profile tyres you have
-
yeh but they are too big anyways so smaller tyres will bring the speedo back in calibration.
so will 195/40/16's look ok?
-
anyone?
-
i would say put 195/45/16`s on, what width are the wheels?
-
THEY GOT 205'S ON ATM SO I THINK THEY ARE 8INCH :undecided:
-
deffo 195`s but up to you wether you go 45 or 40`s you might get a harsher ride on 40`s
-
Dont get Toyo's. I suggest Uniroyal Rainsport, ive got 4 on my unlowered golf and it handles much better than my brothers VTR lowered 40mm.
-
I have just bought uniroyal rainsports from mine!!!
Are they anygood? Got them for £34 a corner, so didn't that was too bad?
-
wow. where did you get them from for 34 pound rowlers?
-
My Rallye has got Toyo T1-Rs on and they are 195/40/16s on an 8 inch wide rim and the rides fine and dandio. It's a small stretch without going too far, personally I think that 175s will be too much of a stretch, but it's down to you and how far you want to go.
-
my local garage I use I assume that is cheap then?
-
Yeah, I was going to make a post rubbing everyones noses in it how cheap I got my Uniroyals, £32 per corner. 195/45/15 78V. I'll get them fitted soon, great tyres, great price. Eagle F1s were only £33+VAT per corner too - gotta love wholesalers :D
