Title: Cabby Clipper question
Post by: Thom89 on 26 June 2007, 23:59
Ive just painted sill mouldings, wheel arches, and bumpers on my workmates G reg Cabby... what we need to know is wether the thin plastic edgeing strip that runs the legnth of the sill moulding, and just onto the wheel arches is still available, I suspect that its NLA, if thats the case, is there an alternative that would do the job, thats readily available..
Thanks
Tom

RJ, no their not on that listing, the parts im on about fit between the sill cover, and the sill itself, its a very thin plastic moulding that runs the legnth of the sill, and has short additional peices that run a few inches into the front and rear wheel arches, they literally "finish off" the body kit where it meets the body, I guess lots of clippers now have these mouldings missing, because of there delicate nature, I checked with the dealer on friday, they said NLA...

ah, is it not just a length of beading? Something like this:

Now we are gettin close! thanks RJ, looking like we're in the right ballpark, I just need to find the correct profile, that will accept double sided tape, thatll stick it to the sill trim, before it gets mounted on the car...

I've replaced these recently and got them from my local VW Dealer. Cost mere pence (well, a couple of quid).
