Here are some pics of my new motor. I traded in my 6 week old focus st3 for her! Worth every penny and by far the best VW I have owned and I have owned over 20 VW's including a mkV Golf GTI, I tried the ford out cos I got £4000 of it new as I am in the forces. Was a great car just awful on mpg and averaged 17 mpg over the 900 miles I drove. I wanted one of these edition 30's when they first came out but the VW dealerships would give me nothing off for cash so decided against one but picked this up for less than the price of a standard 07 plate GTI and she only has 2400 miles on her and perfect condition. I have owned 4 25th Anniversary Golf GTI's over the years and this car was always the natural progression for me. Anyhow enjoy the pics and let me know what you all think!?
Cheers John!

thats a pretty car you've got there John

Looking good mate... I hope your pleased?
I was 'playing' with a new Focus ST last night! It was pretty close - with the same sort of gap the whole time (they had a head start!). I could have probably caught up... but I only have 600 miles on the clock - so I can only go to 5000rpm according to my run in 'schedule'
-
Lovely car John
Welcome to the MKV section
-
Very nice, look's good in black
BTW welcome to the mad house.
-
Can i say that looks great!, good find at a realistic price too. thumbs up from me

Don't you just hate that ! How long are you meant to "Run it in". TBH 600 isn't alot of miles so I think its probs best you didnt lol.

very niccce
but mudflaps... I know they "serve and protect" but still... :lipsrsealed:
-
Thanks for all your positive comments! The mudflaps where fitted by previous owner but they are a must on a black car and you don't really notice them much! I must of bought the cheapest edition 30 in the country at less than £20k! My local VW dealership said I could sell it and make £2k profit! Will be keeping this motor for a long time and plan to get the Milltek turbo back as soon as it is developed.

Nice motor John, looks familiar! As do those quarters in the background! Bit of advice though mate, change the photos and blank out your VRN, there are some dodgy blokes out there
-
Very nice and in the best colour too
Nowt wrong with mudflaps on a GTI

Yes i know youd have the "st" for a short time as you can't keep a car for more than a few months.
Never known anyone to waste so much money as you John.
Welcome back to the VW world again!!
So how long you going to hold onto this??
Or you going to get rid of it for something else next week.
Hows life up there in the MOTHER LAND?????

The run in is supposed to be 1500km according to the manual - which is around 1000miles. I started my first 200miles at 3500rpm, next 200 at 4000... 4500 and now at 620 miles I'm at 5000rpm! Another few hundred miles and I can put the foot to the floor and reach the redline

The red callipers really stand out on black cars.
Looks nice in black.
I wonder if the mud flaps are the from the R32? Anyone know?
-
Now then Tatty!
Made money on the ST and got the golf for £3000 cheaper than new and could sell it tomorrow and make £2000! Not bad as I have made money on the last 6 cars I have owned! I now have the car I wanted in the first place! What you driving now tatty?
Cheers John

Look out for my grey Ed 30 on that very run from Monday after it arrives on Saturday

Very nice, how do you get a bargain like that?
Nephew said a friend of his had just sold his 55reg GTi Red 25K miles for £13K needed a quick sale, never stumble across these myself.
-
Looking good!! Always good to see another black GTI!! And what a bargain price!!!!

I have dealer fitted GTI mud flaps on mine front and rear. Look good on a black car and very effective in stopping all the road cr@p spattering over the paintwork.

I also have VW dealer fit mud flaps on my silver GTI, excellent too!
