Greetings ladies & gents.
Made my way over to this site as I'm plotting to leave the world of Minis behind and take up with a Golf. Will soon be looking for a clean, unmodded 3-door MkII 8v for £1-1.5k (much more of which soon no doubt).
Some of you will know my good friend Nick aka Horney. He is to blame for this!
So can we start with you all telling me why a Golf will be so much more fun than a Mini?
Cheers.....

Welcome mate
they dont rust as much  My Y Reg mk1 is fairly solid , even after spendin most its life in the IOM , ive had minis that were 10-15 years old that have rusted into the floor , Saw a T reg cooper the other day with rusty door bottoms and front panels

Peel has got the bug for sure. I emailed him this morning to find out how he was gettin gon and he confessed that he tried to give the car a good clean last night but only managed a quick hoover before the urge to go out for a spin was too much to resist.
